As a small organisation, Ammalife is almost completely run by volunteers. Each one of us, volunteer or otherwise, all share the same vision that no mother should die whilst giving life. Essential to our organisation is our Board of Trustees who are responsible for ensuring that Ammalife keeps to its mission of saving mothers’ lives worldwide. We’re now on the look out for a creative and committed individual to join the Ammalife family and our Board of Trustees. Could that be you?

What will I do?

As a member of the Board of Trustees, you’ll play an essential role in strategically overseeing the management of the organisation. You may bring with you previous experience from the charity sector in fundraising or charity governance, experience from the legal sector, or experience in communications. Individuals from other professional backgrounds will also be considered providing that you are experienced in your field, and share our passion for maternal and women’s healthcare. Prospective candidates may be invited to a short interview with Ammalife’s existing trustees before they are invited to join the Ammalife family. New trustees will also receive an induction into the charity.

What will I gain?

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge, and to make a big impact on a small charity as we grow and develop. You will work closely with our friendly Board of Trustees, as well as the skilled and experienced members of our Executive Board. You will get the opportunity to learn more about issues of global maternal and women’s health, as well as stay up-to-date with ground-breaking research that is being conducted in the field. This role is also a great chance to learn about the management and running of a small charity, and develop your own skills in charity governance.
