walking for waterSpring is coming! A time to stand up and support one another… And so in a spirit of solidarity and collaboration with other charities in the field of international development, we’re taking on a challenge to support not only mothers but also their daughters in developing countries, who from as young as 3 have to spend their days walking to fetch essential water supplies. These gruelling trips mean they often don’t have time to go to school or make a living, meaning they’re unable to reach their full potential in life.

A team of eight Ammalife volunteers  will be ‘Walking In Her Shoes’ between 8th and 14th March, which means we’ll wear a pedometer and walk at least 10,000 steps a day (about 5 miles). We’re hoping to raise money for CARE International* to provide safe water nearer to families who currently have to trek for miles every day to fetch it.
