Projects Overview
Ammalife will identify and develop potentially worthwhile projects and programmes, equip these with specific objectives and goals, secure funding, implement, monitor and eventually evaluate them against their pre-defined targets - and learn from the exercise.
Project identification
Project development.
- If the PAR recommends a project, we will, in collaboration with local partners, develop project protocols (which will specify projects aims, objectives, activities, targets and timelines) and constitute project teams.
- In developing the projects, we will carefully examine the local needs and circumstances, and modify the implementation packages (IPs) to suit the particular locality and needs (IPs will now be called TIPs, or tailored implementation packages).
- In developing (and implementing) the projects, we will actively seek collaboration with a) other heath care workers in the project locality, b) local organisations, c) larger organisations (including the country’s government) and d) other charities.
- Training and education will be given priorities.
Project funding
- We will seek and secure funding for the projects, based on a detailed analysis of resource/funding needs for each project.
- The general aim would be to link a specific project to a specific sponsor – The project team will be accountable to not only Ammalife, but also, within reason, to the sponsors. Sponsors can expect regular reports on projects that they sponsor, and have an opportunity to interact with the project team.
- We will seek twinning arrangements (for example, a delivery suite in the UK twinning (and supporting) a delivery suite in the developing world.)
- We will ensure systems are put into place for longer term sustenance of projects.
Project implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- The project management team will implement the project according to the project protocol.
- Ongoing and final audits, and quality improvement (QI) exercises will be integral parts of every project.
- An external evaluation against agreed targets will be part of all projects.
